COMMON EYE EMERGENCIES

If you experience any of these symptoms, seek immediate medical attention:

Trauma to the eye (such as a scratch or impact)

FIRST AID TIPS

If you get any harmful chemicals in your eye, wash your eye thoroughly for 15 minutes with cool, clean water, then seek medical assistance.
For light eye-related trauma, place a cold compress on your eye and contact a medical professional. Depending on how severe the injury is, you may require medical attention.
For any punctures, tears, or scratches, do not touch the injured area. Cover it with an eye shield if you have one and then seek immediate medical attention.

Not everyone needs glasses just to see properly; depending on your profession, you may require safety goggles or glasses to safeguard your eyes from workplace hazards. If you are working in a lab, on a construction site, or in a warehouse, you may be more likely to suffer an injury on the job. To safeguard your eye health and vision, always ensure you are wearing proper eye protection.
