DISCOVER THE POWER OF YOUR VISION

Contact lenses are becoming increasingly popular with many patients across the country. Developments in eye contact technology have made it so contact lenses are easier to care for, safer to wear, and can offer clearer vision to patients with a wide variety of eye conditions.

Elora Optometry is proud to provide this amazing technology to our patients as well as carry a variety of lens types to help give the best vision possible.

CONTACT LENS EXAM

If you are considering contact lenses to correct your vision, then look no further than Elora Optometry. When you book your next comprehensive eye exam, please let your optometrist know you are curious about contact lenses. Your optometrist will then determine the best contact lenses for you based on your visual needs and lifestyle.

After finding the right pair of contacts for you, our opticians will give you a quick lesson on how to clean and maintain your contact lenses and how to properly insert and remove them.

Once you’ve had a few days to test them out, we will follow up with you to see if any adjustments need to be made and check how well your eyes are responding to the lenses.

TYPES OF CONTACT LENSES

Contact lenses have developed at a rapid pace since they were first introduced. Modern contacts can now correct symptoms of astigmatism as well as provide protection from UV rays.

Aspheric contact lenses were developed to help patients who still experience vision issues after using conventional spherical contact lenses, a condition known as a spherical aberration. Spherical aberration causes the focal point of light entering your eye, not focus on your retina clearly. This will cause blurry vision if not corrected by an aspheric contact lens.

Toric contact lenses are a different shape than regular conventional contact lenses. If a common contact lens is described to be shaped like a slice taken off the side of a beach ball, then a toric lens is shaped more like a slice off the side of a doughnut. This irregular shape provides benefits for patients who might be experiencing symptoms of astigmatism.

For patients who might be experiencing multiple visual issues like presbyopia, myopia, and astigmatism, then multifocal contacts might be the best option to correct your vision. Multifocal contact lenses are built with multiple prescriptions in mind to help treat your symptoms the best.

Transition contacts help provide you with clear, comfortable vision in a variety of lighting conditions. This makes these contacts perfect for people who play a lot of sports or spend a lot of time outdoors.
